Senior MEP Design Associate (Relocation to Iraq)

Job Purpose

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare BOQs in line with Design team requirements and approved specifications.
• Produce high-level and detailed cost estimates from project requirements, drawings, and design information.
• Perform quantity take-offs from architectural, civil, interior, and MEP drawings before tender issuance.
• Conduct cost analysis and implement cost control measures to optimize project capex.
• Propose value engineering options that reduce cost while maintaining quality and design standards.
• Analyze contractor quotations, identify commercial variances, and support tender and bid evaluations.
• Assess cost impacts from risks, design changes, and scope variations.
• Maintain costing records, benchmarking data, and project documentation.
• Implement Americana standards, specifications, and governance requirements across costing and BOQ activities.
• Coordinate with Design, Construction, Real Estate, Procurement, and project teams.
• Provide costing, coordination, and reporting support for special projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Six to eight years of experience in Quantity Surveying, MEP estimation, or project cost management is required.
• Experience in retail, F&B, or multi-site construction environments is preferred.
• Experience supporting new store development or refurbishment projects is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, cost estimation, and BOQ preparation is required.
• Knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and pre-contract procedures is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
• Analytical, numerical, cost-control, communication, coordination, organizational, and independent-working skills are required.
