Senior Medical Coder (IBO Medical Center)

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Submit all IBO Medical Center claims within agreed timelines.
• Review outpatient clinical documentation and assign CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding compliance with DHA, MOH, DOH, and payer-specific requirements.
• Validate insurance approvals, coverage policies, and coding requirements before submission.
• Clarify diagnoses or missing information with doctors and clinical staff.
• Resolve claim rejections and denials caused by coding discrepancies.
• Maintain knowledge of insurance guidelines, coding changes, and payer circulars.
• Generate coding audit reports and assist with compliance checks and insurance assessments.
• Complete claim submission by the 2nd of each month and resubmission within 21 days.
• Complete reconciliation, resubmission, and closure with insurance companies within required timelines.
• Maintain professional customer relationships and respond to queries within standard guidelines.
• Participate in training and improve coding workflows.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a medical or healthcare-related field.
• CPC or equivalent AAPC/AHIMA-recognized certification.
• Minimum 5–7 years of UAE medical coding experience.
• Outpatient coding experience in medical centers or day care surgery centers in the Northern Emirates.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, UAE insurance regulations, and payer portals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR/HIS systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
