Job Summary
- The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in MEP operations oversees mechanical projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, and optimizing mechanical systems' functionality.
Job Responsibilities 1
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of mechanical projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Provide technical expertise in mechanical system design, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive mechanical design solutions.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost effective project delivery.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure materials and equipment necessary for project implementation.
- Oversee the preparation of drawings, specifications, and project manuals.
- Lead project meetings, communicate project status updates, and address any concerns or issues raised by project team members or stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Ensure the successful completion of mechanical projects, including commissioning, testing, and closeout, and facilitate the transition and maintenance.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Profound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, codes, and standards relevant to MEP projects.
- Expertise in HVAC system design, plumbing layouts, and fire protection systems, with a focus on optimizing energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively liaise with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.
- Problem solving aptitude to address complex technical challenges and adapt to evolving project requirements.
- ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
