Position overview

Egis Group is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Master Planner for its design team.

The role requires strong master planning and urban design experience with a proven record of delivering projects across the Middle East.

The role covers masterplans from concept through detailed design, multidisciplinary coordination, authority approvals, and client and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate large-scale masterplans and urban design projects.
  • Prepare land use plans, development strategies, zoning plans, density studies, and phasing plans.
  • Work on residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and destination developments.
  • Coordinate architecture, landscape, infrastructure, transport, and utility teams.
  • Support authority submissions and address planning and regulatory requirements.
  • Review development yields, plot layouts, road networks, access, parking, and mobility strategies.
  • Prepare and present design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Review consultant deliverables and maintain quality standards.
  • Mentor junior team members and support project delivery.
  • Contribute to design guidelines and planning controls.

Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning or Urban Design.
  • Minimum five years of experience in master planning or urban design.
  • Strong experience on Middle East projects, with UAE or Saudi Arabia experience preferred.
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy or developer environment.
  • Good understanding of planning regulations, authority requirements, and development processes.
  • Ability to coordinate infrastructure, mobility, landscape, and utility requirements within a masterplan.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate within project teams.

Software skills

  • AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft PowerPoint are listed as software skills.
  • ArcGIS or GIS, Rhino or Grasshopper, and Revit are preferred.

Key competencies and project experience

  • Key competencies include master planning, urban design, multidisciplinary coordination, design review, quality control, technical documentation, and reporting.
  • The role requires client and stakeholder management, problem-solving, analytical thinking, leadership, mentoring, and written and verbal communication.
  • Preferred project experience includes residential communities, mixed-use developments, golf communities, hospitality and resort projects, waterfront developments, destination and tourism projects, high-density urban developments, and UAE authority submissions.
