Job Purpose
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the DFSA policy framework across a range of financial regulatory topics.
Potential policy areas include capital markets, securities, funds, technology and innovation, AML/CFT, banking, insurance, digital assets, and ESG, depending on organisational priorities.
Developing Policy
- Develop and maintain the DFSA policy framework in line with international standards, organisational risk tolerance, and appropriate new financial business in the DIFC.
- Prepare policy papers, present policy positions, and draft consultation papers through internal policy and legislative development processes.
- Lead policy projects to deliver changes to the DFSA regulatory policy framework within agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Compare international standards and other jurisdictions’ regimes with the DFSA regulatory regime to identify areas where change may be needed.
- Engage market participants, peer regulators, international standard setters, and industry associations to formulate policy positions.
International Developments and Representation
- Follow international regulatory developments relevant to the role.
- Prepare or contribute to responses to international or regional consultations and help shape relevant international standards.
