About Inception42

Inception42 is a G42 company developing AI-powered, domain-specific and industry-agnostic products.

Inception functions within the G42 ecosystem as an intelligence layer that transforms data and compute infrastructure into applied AI solutions.

Role overview

The Senior Manager serves as the resident investment practitioner within the (in)Alpha product team.

The role translates investment screening, diligence, committee preparation, and portfolio monitoring practices into product requirements and analytical standards.

The position is a permanent, full-time individual-contributor role with no direct reports at hire.

The position is based in Abu Dhabi and involves regular GCC travel with occasional international client travel.

Investment product ownership

  • Define how platform modules support screening, diligence workstreams, data-room handling, investment committee materials, and portfolio monitoring.
  • Author model investment committee memos, diligence question sets, decision criteria, scoring frameworks, and peer-benchmarking conventions.
  • Resolve practitioner-level product scope, behavior, and edge-case questions with product and engineering teams.
  • Pressure-test features against fund governance, regulated processes, committee dynamics, and deal-team workflows.

AI quality and standards

  • Review AI-generated memos, summaries, comparables, extracted metrics, and monitoring insights for analytical soundness and correct source use.
  • Define quality bars and evaluation criteria for analytical outputs with the AI team.
  • Identify incorrect outputs, including misread covenants, misstated valuation logic, and false peer matches, and drive resolution.
  • Set standards for citation, traceability, and source transparency.

Client and commercial collaboration

  • Lead investment-domain contributions to demonstrations, discovery sessions, and executive conversations with institutional investors.
  • Run design-partner relationships and convert detailed workflow evidence into prioritized product input.
  • Advise clients on configuring templates, taxonomies, decision criteria, diligence processes, and committee processes.
  • Contribute investment-domain substance to proposals, RFP responses, and thought-leadership materials without direct revenue ownership.
  • Maintain a practitioner view of competitive, GCC market, regional deal-structure, reporting, and Arabic-language requirements.

Required experience

  • Typically 6 or more years in private equity, private credit, growth equity, or an institutional or sovereign investment environment.
  • Direct transaction ownership from sourcing through diligence and investment committee review.
  • Experience preparing and defending investment committee materials, including memo authorship, valuation, and LBO analysis.
  • Working command of data rooms, diligence trackers, peer benchmarking, decision frameworks, and portfolio reporting packs.
  • Strong investment judgment, analytical scepticism, and ability to distinguish decision-relevant evidence from interesting detail.
  • Ability to explain investment reasoning precisely to engineers, AI practitioners, designers, commercial teams, and client executives.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a comparable discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience at a general partner, sovereign wealth fund, or regional institutional investor is preferred.
  • Prior technology, data, or transformation involvement within an investment firm is preferred.
  • A CFA or CAIA charter, or active progress toward one, is preferred.
  • Experience across both private equity and private credit workflows is preferred.
  • Hands-on use or formal evaluation of AI-assisted research, diligence, or document-analysis tools is preferred.

Working style

The role requires precise communication, strong judgment, high ownership, and comfort with evolving priorities.

The position involves collaboration with product, engineering, AI, growth, and client investment teams without relying on formal authority.
