Senior Manager - Group Finance

Role Overview

Strategic Responsibilities

• Lead group statutory reporting, management reporting, consolidation, and performance analysis.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, and ICFR frameworks.
• Oversee treasury operations, banking activities, liquidity management, and related controls.
• Oversee tax governance and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Provide finance leadership for strategic projects, transformation programs, acquisitions, and key initiatives.
• Drive application of IFRS, accounting policies, Delegation of Authority, and governance standards.
• Promote standardization, automation, and continuous improvement through the Finance Centre of Excellence.

Functional Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful group financial reporting.
• Lead Investment Committee, Board, executive management, CFO, and group reporting packs.
• Oversee consolidation, monthly MIS, balance sheet schedules, and performance analysis.
• Lead annual statutory reporting and the external audit process.
• Lead finance ERP requirements and enhancement initiatives.
• Oversee treasury and banking operations, authorizations, segregation of duties, and liquidity oversight.
• Oversee tax returns, payments, refunds, and statutory filings.
• Lead technical accounting assessments and implementation of new IFRS standards.
• Review and enhance finance policies, SOPs, and Delegation of Authority frameworks.
• Support FP&A through validation of actual results, budgets, forecasts, assumptions, and trends.
• Review insurance declarations, completion accounts, purchase price allocations, and acquisition accounting where applicable.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and act as backup to Tax and Treasury functions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• A professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, including 2–3 years in reporting and managerial roles.
• Experience in group reporting, statutory reporting, audit, consolidation, or multi-entity finance is required.
• Education sector experience is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, group reporting, statutory reporting, consolidation, ICFR, and financial controls.
• Ability to execute finance projects, improve processes, and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain output quality under pressure.
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
• Ability to lead, organize, coach, and develop teams.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, networking, and cultural sensitivity skills.
