Role Overview

Aldar Education is seeking a Classroom Assistant for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the 2026/27 academic year.

The role supports pupils’ learning, participation, wellbeing, and development across the school day.

Main Duties

  • Support individual pupils and groups inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
  • Assist with individual education programmes and monitor pupil progress.
  • Support pupils with additional emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Assist teachers with pupil records, displays, photocopying, and other classroom tasks.
  • Follow school health and safety requirements, relevant legislation, and school policies.

Specific Duties

  • Provide individual or group instruction and demonstrate instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Monitor assigned work, check and correct pupils’ work, and keep pupils on task.
  • Praise and reinforce achievements and report pupil progress to the teacher.
  • Reorganise materials at the end of the day and check attendance.
  • Supervise pupils in classrooms and other locations.
  • Promote self-esteem and positive behaviour, and address misbehaviour in line with school policy.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum secondary school certificate.
  • At least two years of experience in a school setting.
  • English language skills appropriate to the school curriculum.
  • UAE National with a minimum secondary school certificate or bachelor’s degree.

Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • Previous experience working with students whose first language is not English.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
  • Professional approach and consideration for children’s wellbeing.
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.
  • Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
