KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and manages the development of strategy, forecasts, plans, executes and reports for a portfolio of capital constructions projects
- Lead the delivery of capital projects from design through execution.
- Establish and mature project delivery processes, governance frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting structures for a growing portfolio of work.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including municipalities, transit agencies, developers, regulatory authorities, and project partners.
- Leads commercial and contractual negotiations for complex project agreements, coordination agreements, and infrastructure-related arrangements.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to enhance transparency, communication, and overall customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
- Leads a team to drive continuous improvement initiatives related to contractor performance and oversight including; material delivery, auditing services, IT/OT systems, records and project close out functions.
- Lead all aspects of Contractor Management and Oversight including; Contract scope development and adherence, environment, health and safety requirements and delivery of the work programs.
- Provides coaching and feedback to motivate and engage employee outcomes in the attainment of organizational goals; acts to address gaps in performance which may impact outcomes. Provides varied growth opportunities and supports specific rotations for all employees
- Manages annual budget, plans, scorecards and measures consistent with corporate, divisional and departmental goals.
- Oversee and manages the relationships, attainment and performance for all elements of capital projects and planned work.
- Provides oversight of the management systems, processes and procedures to optimize safety, reliability, costs and outcomes in accordance with legal and regulatory obligations under various statutes and codes
- Acts as the subject matter expert in the development and defense of regulatory evidence to support large construction projects portfolio.
- Oversees the resolution of issues with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate and address risks associated with project/program attainment or organizational brand and reputation.
- Up to 20% of monthly travel is required to visit construction sites, field visits, off-site meetings, and other work locations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree (Electrical Engineering strongly preferred).
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in leading capital projects, customer connection programs, infrastructure projects, or utility-related project execution.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of strong people leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of design, construction, contract administration, and project delivery practices.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing partnerships with internal/external stakeholders
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario (preferred).
- Masters level degree – Business Administration or Engineering (preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation (preferred).
- Strong understanding of utility relocation, utility coordination, permitting, and regulatory approval processes.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, risk management, contract administration, and capital project delivery.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate ideas and influence change with people at all levels of the organization

This position is based in a hybrid environment allowing for remote work two days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite Tuesday to Thursday. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
