Compensation
- The expected salary range is CAD 90,810 to CAD 113,512 annually.
- The target variable performance pay is 8%.
- Final compensation depends on experience, education, training, and alignment with role requirements.
Role Overview
The Asset Investment Analyst, also identified as a GIS Analyst, provides engineering support for the utility’s Electrical Distribution Power System.
The role focuses on GIS and Enterprise Asset Management data management, analytics, business process improvement, and application enhancement.
The analyst supports technical soundness, reliability, safety, cost effectiveness, and informed asset investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead asset management process improvements, data governance, system implementation projects, GIS enhancements, and SAP data quality programs.
- Support GIS integration with Network Management Systems and other enterprise applications.
- Act as the GIS subject matter expert for asset management data and lead validation and issue resolution.
- Develop data quality programs for standardization, profiling, monitoring, and quality metrics.
- Analyze and maintain GIS, SAP, and related asset data.
- Develop reports, maps, dashboards, visualizations, and metrics for operational, financial, regulatory, and strategic decisions.
- Support asset records, capitalization processes, and regulatory filing requirements.
- Assess risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process changes, integrations, and system implementations.
- Develop process maps, workflows, business requirements, policies, standards, and governance documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and recommend technologies, tools, best practices, and data strategies.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Information Systems, GIS/Geography, or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of experience in data management, data quality, business analysis, process improvement, and information management.
- Strong experience with SQL, data preparation, data wrangling, and relational databases.
- Knowledge of GIS and asset-related data management practices.
- Experience analyzing and reporting on large and complex datasets.
- Experience with SAP data management and data quality improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, communication, leadership, and change management skills.
- Ability to work independently, own deliverables, influence stakeholders, and assess emerging technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Project, and Visio.
- Python, R, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, and project management certification are considered assets.
Workplace
- The position is hybrid, allowing remote work two days per week based on business needs.
- Employees are required to work onsite Tuesday through Thursday.
- Employees are expected to live in Ontario within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
