- Lead and manage cost engineering activities for large scale capital projects, including feasibility studies, detailed cost estimates, and budget forecasting
- Develop and implement cost control strategies to optimize project expenditures while maintaining quality and schedule objectives
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and variance investigations, providing actionable recommendations to project leadership and stakeholders
- Mentor and supervise junior cost engineers and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with project scope and deliverables
- Prepare and present comprehensive cost reports, financial forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management
- Analyze vendor quotations and contractor proposals, negotiating terms to achieve optimal value for the organization
- Implement and maintain cost management systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Identify and assess cost risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans
- Stay current with industry trends, cost indices, and market conditions affecting the Energy & Natural Resources sector
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and cost management best practices
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of cost engineering experience in the Energy & Natural Resources sector (renewable energy, utilities)
- Proven expertise in project cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control methodologies
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and cost analysis tools
- Strong knowledge of capital project delivery and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) processes
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and mentoring junior professionals
- Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost engineering software platforms
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
