Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• The Senior Interior Designer serves as the developer’s design lead, bridging the gap between vision and execution.
• This involves safeguarding the design intent throughout the project lifecycle and managing a diverse team of consultants, including architects, interior designers, lighting specialists, and signage experts.
• The following table outlines the core areas of responsibility for this position:
• Serve as the Developer's Design Lead, ensuring that the design vision, brand identity, and project objectives are consistently reflected throughout all project stages.
• Lead the interior design strategy for luxury residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments from concept through construction.
• Champion design excellence, innovation, and quality while maintaining commercial viability and project objectives.
• Ensure all design solutions align with current luxury market trends, customer expectations, and best practices.
• Manage and coordinate all interior design-related consultants, including interior designers, architects, lighting designers, FF&E consultants, signage specialists, and other design disciplines.
• Review and evaluate consultant submissions for design quality, functionality, technical compliance, and alignment with project objectives.
• Chair and participate in design coordination meetings, workshops, and reviews with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of design packages, drawings, specifications, schedules, and presentation materials.
• Monitor the design development process to ensure design packages are fully coordinated, complete, and suitable for tender and construction.
• Support project teams during construction by reviewing shop drawings, material submissions, mock-ups, and site conditions.
• Provide practical and innovative design solutions to address technical challenges and site-related issues without compromising design integrity.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with approved design intent and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with project management, procurement, and commercial teams to balance design aspirations with budget and programme requirements.
• Identify and implement value engineering opportunities while maintaining luxury standards and overall project quality.
• Evaluate alternative materials, products, and solutions to achieve project objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Support planning, authority approvals, and stakeholder review processes by ensuring all design submissions meet regulatory and project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, international design standards, accessibility requirements, and sustainability objectives where applicable.
• Stay informed of global trends in luxury residential, hospitality, wellness, and lifestyle design.
• Research emerging materials, technologies, products, and design methodologies to enhance project innovation and market differentiation.
• Contribute to the continuous development of Richmind Development's design standards and brand identity.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, or a related discipline.
• Master's Degree is advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 10–12 years of professional experience in interior design, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience within luxury residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or high-end real estate development projects.
• Previous experience working on the developer/client side is highly desirable.
• Strong track record managing design consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

Technical Skills

• Advanced knowledge of interior detailing, joinery design, material specifications, finishes, and construction methodologies.
• Strong understanding of design documentation, tender packages, and construction administration.
• Excellent knowledge of luxury materials, FF&E procurement, and bespoke design solutions.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe(mandatory).
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, Lumion, and other visualization software.
