About the Role
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior AI Infrastructure Architect to design and govern enterprise infrastructure platforms supporting AI, ML, and GenAI workloads.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise infrastructure architectures supporting AI and advanced analytics workloads
- Define infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps covering cloud, hybrid cloud, networking, storage, compute, container platforms, and AI infrastructure
- Design and govern infrastructure platforms supporting AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and data intensive workloads
- Architect GPU enabled cloud and on premises infrastructure for model training, inference, and AI service deployment
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud native AI infrastructure solutions considering scalability, availability, security, performance, and operational efficiency
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, containerization, and platform engineering best practices
- Define infrastructure sizing, resource allocation, performance optimization, and cost management strategies for enterprise and AI workloads
- Design secure infrastructure architectures and ensure appropriate controls for identity management, network security, data protection, encryption, and workload isolation
- Define and implement high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies
- Support FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization initiatives across infrastructure and AI platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and design
- Azure Cloud experience
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect is a plus

Role Purpose
- Design, architect, and govern enterprise infrastructure platforms that support both traditional and AI enabled workloads.
- Lead the development of scalable, secure, resilient, and high performance cloud and hybrid infrastructure architectures that enable AI, ML, GenAI, data analytics, and enterprise applications.
- Focus on infrastructure, cloud, platform, networking, security, compute, storage, and operational capabilities required to support AI adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise infrastructure architectures that support current and future business and technology requirements, including AI and advanced analytics workloads.
- Define infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps covering cloud, hybrid cloud, networking, storage, compute, container platforms, and AI infrastructure capabilities.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Digital teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for AI initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend infrastructure technologies, cloud services, GPU enabled environments, and platform services that support enterprise AI adoption.
- Ensure infrastructure architectures align with security, governance, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and govern infrastructure platforms supporting AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and data intensive workloads.
- Architect GPU enabled cloud and on premises infrastructure to support model training, inference, and AI service deployment.
- Design scalable environments supporting Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, AI Foundry, and related AI platforms.
- Define infrastructure requirements for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, AI assistants, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Ensure AI workloads are deployed using enterprise grade infrastructure, security, networking, and operational standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud native AI infrastructure solutions considering scalability, availability, security, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, containerization, and platform engineering best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (master’s degree Preferred) in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect is a plus.
- Proven 5 years of experience with cloud architecture and design, Azure Cloud experience, and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Skills
- Azure AI Services and Azure OpenAI infrastructure deployment experience.
- Kubernetes and container orchestration for AI workloads.
- AI platform hosting and operational architecture.
- Infrastructure support for Machine Learning and GenAI workloads.
- AI security and governance from an infrastructure perspective.
- FinOps for AI and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficient in security policy management and rule configurations.
- Self motivated with a proven ability to complete work in a timely manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill including appropriate stakeholder alignment.
- Ability to multi task and to prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work under own direction and high degree of initiative.
