Job Overview

  • We are currently looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to support a key initiative within the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) on a 12 month freelance contract.
  • DCT Abu Dhabi is the government entity responsible for driving the sustainable growth of Abu Dhabi’s culture, tourism and creative industries, playing a central role in positioning the emirate as a global hub.
  • Working within the Community Engagement unit, this role is responsible for delivering the day to day activities that keep the community active, connected, and growing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and run recurring community activities end to end.
  • Manage scheduling, venues, registrations, speakers, mentors, and on site delivery for community activities.
  • Coordinate vendors, venues, and delivery partners and track costs against the allocated budget.
  • Support the execution of the year round community calendar.
  • Manage the community’s online spaces, including the community platform, social channels, and newsletters.
  • Publish the content calendar and ensure information on programs and events remains accurate and current.
  • Prepare communication materials for community programs, including announcements, event recaps, and creator content coordination.
  • Support the delivery of B2B and B2C events.
  • Assist with operational coordination and on site delivery as required.
  • Maintain the community database, including member information, program participation, and engagement across activities and platforms.
  • Track attendance, engagement, and satisfaction for every community activity.
  • Prepare accurate inputs for the unit’s KPI reporting.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hands on experience organizing community events from initial planning through to on site delivery.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities, vendors, and stakeholders in parallel.
  • Ability to keep community members informed, engaged, and connected across different programs and platforms.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience managing online community platforms and social media channels, including the delivery of content calendars.
  • Experience supporting larger events, such as festivals, tournaments, and conferences, in operational roles.
  • Basic data and reporting skills, including tracking participation and engagement and preparing simple reports.
  • Arabic language ability is an asset.
