Role Overview
Senior Finishing Engineer responsible for managing finishing activities at construction sites.
The role focuses on high-quality execution, timely completion, contractor coordination, and compliance with approved drawings and standards.
Experience and Education
- Eight to twelve or more years of relevant experience in finishing and construction works.
- B.E., B.Tech, or Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Additional certification in construction or finishing management is an advantage.
- Experience with residential, commercial, high-rise, villa, or large-scale real estate projects is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and monitor finishing activities including masonry, plastering, flooring, tiling, painting, waterproofing, ceilings, doors, windows, joinery, sanitary fixtures, and architectural works.
- Review drawings, coordinate with consultants and project disciplines, and resolve technical issues and clashes.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors, plan resources, monitor progress, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers.
- Inspect quality, verify approved materials, identify defects, conduct snagging and de-snagging, and ensure timely closure.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain inspection, approval, material submission, checklist, and work-progress records.
- Verify measurements, support contractor quantity verification and billing, protect completed works, and guide junior site staff.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of finishing materials, construction methods, quality standards, and finishing specifications.
- Ability to identify and resolve workmanship issues, manage multiple activities, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively.
Finishing Areas
Key areas include plastering, flooring, tiling, painting, waterproofing, false ceilings, doors and windows, aluminium and glazing, joinery, sanitary and bathroom finishes, kitchens, façades, landscaping finishes, snagging, and handover.
Performance Measures
Performance measures include finishing quality, timely completion, reduced rework and material wastage, snag closure, contractor productivity, specification compliance, handover quality, and team coordination.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay is ₹45,000 to ₹50,000 per month.
- Provident Fund is listed as a benefit.
