Role Overview
The Senior Financial Controller will provide financial control, business analysis, performance monitoring, forecasting, and commercial insights for a hospitality or hotel operation.
The role requires analytical capability, commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to challenge operational decisions with financial data.
Financial Control and Performance
- Lead hotel financial control, analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Analyze performance against budget, forecast, prior year, and business plan.
- Monitor ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, GOP, GOP margin, GOPPAR, and departmental profitability.
- Identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve profitability.
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting and challenge departmental assumptions.
- Conduct variance analysis, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Cost and Revenue Management
- Establish proactive cost controls for food and beverage, payroll, utilities, purchasing, and operating expenses.
- Monitor daily and weekly financial performance and provide early warnings to management.
- Work with revenue management, sales and marketing, food and beverage, HR, purchasing, and operations.
