About the Role
A leading energy group in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Engineer for Process Automation to review, analyze, and coordinate process automation systems installations. The role involves assessing existing systems, developing specifications, and providing technical expertise.

Responsibilities
- Assess existing systems (ICS, DCS, Process Control Systems, and Real Time Plant Information and Laboratory Management Systems) on obsolescence, spare parts availability, vendor support, inter operability and integration.
- Audit the performance of systems, identify opportunities for process performance monitoring and improvements.
- Provide support in development & updating of technical specification documents and conduct economic feasibility studies.
- Develop system functional specifications, design & as built documentation, user manuals, training materials for minor modifications.
- Provide Technical & Engineering expertise to Plants in the field of Real time Process Information Management system and Laboratory Information management system.
- Provide operational, technical and engineering expertise in Optimization, Alarm Management, Control Loop Performance Monitoring and higher level MES applications.
- Develop scope of work, tender documents, participate in technical bid evaluation.
- Coordinate / participate in the implementation of approved projects including installation and commissioning.
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
- Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering or equivalent
- 8 years’ experience in design, installation, commissioning, operations continuing maintenance, testing and CS validation relating to automation systems within a large industrial organization
- Preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
- PROACT RCA Methodology is preferable

Key Accountabilities

- Provide input for preparation of the Department/Team budgets and assist in implementation.
- Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

- Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department/Team.

- Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
- Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation.
Reports
- Provide inputs to prepare teams MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering or equivalent.
- 8 years’ experience in design, installation, commissioning, operations continuing maintenance, testing and CS validation relating to automation systems within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- PROACT RCA Methodology is preferable.
