Role Overview
The Senior Planning Engineer will lead production planning activities, optimize resource utilization, ensure delivery commitments, and drive continuous improvement in planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- · Lead preparation of Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- · Perform capacity planning, machine loading, and manpower allocation.
- · Ensure alignment of production plans with sales forecasts and customer delivery commitments.
- · Monitor and control WIP levels, inventory planning, and material availability.
- · Analyze and optimize lead times, routing, and BOM accuracy.
- · Drive resolution of production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- · Conduct detailed Plan vs Actual variance analysis and improve schedule adherence.
- · Ensure effective usage of ERP/MRP systems for production tracking and reporting.
- · Coordinate closely with Stores for Raw Material planning and issue control.
- · Generate advanced MIS & performance dashboards for senior management.
- · Mentor junior planning engineers and streamline PPC processes.
Required Skills
- · Strong knowledge of production planning & control
- · Expertise in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle preferred)
- · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- · Good understanding of manufacturing workflows
