Responsibilities
- Technical review of electrical equipment sizing, specifications, technical datasheets, technical bid evaluation and vendor documents reviews of various electrical equipment like GIS, Switchyard equipment, Power Transformer, Busduct, MV & LV switchgear, MCCs, power & distribution transformers, EDGs, DC systems / UPS, Cables, generator circuit breaker, bus duct, lighting fixtures etc.
- Technical review of SLDs, protection & metering diagrams, switchgear scheme drawings and logic diagrams, relay setting & protection coordination of the system, cable sizing etc.
- Review of electrical layouts like raceways, lighting, grounding & lightning protection, Switchyard layouts etc.
- Working Knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP software and conversant with short circuit, load flow, motor starting & voltage drop calculations.
- Participate in meetings with clients and contractors as on when needed.
- Maintain an awareness of technological advances and industry best practice.
- Mandatory skills
- Possess good knowledge of international codes & standards and Industry practices focussing particularly on Middle East Markets.
- Experience in selection of electrical equipment.
- Interdisciplinary knowledge to coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, Civil and Commissioning teams.
- Excellent Skill in oral and written communication, demonstrated skill in leadership.
- Self-propelled, plans, develop, schedule & coordinate the review engineering work within discipline on a multi discipline project or assignment.
- Technical design review of electrical equipment/systems on large scale projects. Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations, including field and design documents relating to the discipline.
- Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.
- Attend and contribute to team and project meetings and site visits.
- Knowledge of industry /regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria.
- Knowledge of health & safety requirements and compliance.
- Lead by example and ensure QMS and Project Lifecycle compliance across team and projects.
- Desired skills
- Experience in Advisory roles for Power plants & Substations particularly for Middle East Region.
- Knowledge of IPP contracts is an advantage.
- Knowledge of IEC codes and practices followed in middle east region.

Qualifications
- A recognized degree in electrical engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university.
- Relevant work experience of minimum 5 years for Owner/detailed engineering preferably in an engineering consultancy firm of power or substation projects.
- Accountable for assigned activities in electrical engineering discipline. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering.
- Work in multi discipline team and support the discipline on the project to resolve technical questions and as required to assist work.
- BGV:
- Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
