This is an opportunity to lead some of Atlantic Canada's most impactful water and wastewater treatment projects while helping communities build resilient, sustainable infrastructure for generations to come.
As a Senior Water & Wastewater Treatment Lead, you'll provide technical leadership, mentor emerging talent, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and partner with clients to solve complex treatment challenges that protect public health and the environment.
Your Impact
- Serve as the technical lead for water and wastewater treatment services in Atlantic Canada, providing strategic direction, technical excellence, mentorship, and project leadership across the region.
- Collaborate with WSP's national Water and Wastewater team and subject matter experts across Canada, contributing to high-impact projects and sharing technical expertise across regions.
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment projects from concept development through commissioning and operational support.
- Provide senior technical leadership for treatment process design, facility upgrades, optimization studies, and capital infrastructure programs.
- Mentor and develop engineers, designers, and technical professionals while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Build and strengthen trusted client relationships while identifying opportunities to grow WSP's water and wastewater treatment practice throughout the region.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, including studies, preliminary engineering, detailed design, tendering, procurement, construction services and commissioning support.
- Review and approve technical reports, specifications, calculations, and design deliverables to ensure quality, innovation, and regulatory compliance.
- Support strategic pursuits, proposals, and business development initiatives that expand WSP's impact within Atlantic Canada.
- Champion sustainable and innovative treatment solutions that help communities thrive while protecting public health and environmental resources.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada and eligibility to practice in Nova Scotia.
- Ideally 15+ years of progressive experience in the water and wastewater industry. We also welcome applications from candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience who can demonstrate strong technical and leadership capabilities.
- Extensive experience leading the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Strong expertise in treatment process evaluation, process optimization, and infrastructure planning.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical mentorship and leadership within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success developing client relationships, supporting strategic pursuits, and contributing to business development and practice growth initiatives.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience collaborating with technical specialists, regional teams, and clients across multiple jurisdictions is considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to travel periodically throughout Atlantic Canada to support project and client needs.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $138,800 - $186,500
MB & ON: $126,600 - $176,600
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $125,400 - $168,900
