The Opportunity

Take your career to the next level with WSP's Land Development & Municipal Engineering (LDME) team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

As a Municipal Engineering Lead, you'll play a key leadership role in delivering transformative municipal infrastructure and land development projects throughout Atlantic Canada.

You'll guide complex projects, mentor technical teams, strengthen client partnerships, contribute to the growth of a high-performing engineering practice, and help shape communities that thrive for generations.

Your Impact

Provide technical, project, and discipline leadership for complex municipal infrastructure and land development projects across Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada.

Lead multidisciplinary project teams while overseeing project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and risk management.

Build and maintain trusted relationships with municipal, private sector, and institutional clients.

Provide technical expertise in municipal servicing, transportation, stormwater management, grading, and water/wastewater utility design.

Lead the preparation and review of engineering reports, specifications, design briefs, and contract documentation.

Mentor and develop engineers, designers, and technical staff to foster technical excellence and future leadership.

Contribute to business growth through proposal development, strategic planning, and identifying new opportunities.

Champion innovative, sustainable, and practical engineering solutions that advance communities and client objectives.

Contribute to team leadership initiatives, operational planning, and the continued development of our Atlantic Land Development and Municipal Engineering practice.

The Skills That Set You Apart

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in municipal infrastructure, transportation and/or land development engineering; 10+ years of related experience is considered an asset.

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and eligibility to practice in Atlantic Canada.

Demonstrated experience delivering municipal infrastructure and land development projects of increasing complexity, with responsibility for technical leadership and project outcomes.

Experience

leading or supporting multidisciplinary project teams and mentoring technical professionals.

Proven success managing project budgets, schedules, resources, contracts, and client relationships.

Strong understanding of municipal engineering standards, approvals, and regulatory processes.

Experience

contributing to team development, strategic initiatives, and the growth of an engineering practice is considered an asset.

Strong business development acumen with experience supporting proposals and cultivating client relationships.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills with a commitment to quality and safety.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $115,700 – $155,400 MB & ON: $105,500 – $147,400 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $104,500 – $140,700
