Senior Electrical MEP Design Engineer

Role Overview

Sales and Concept Design Support

• Visit clients and understand project requirements.
• Prepare concept drawings in AutoCAD according to utility board and electrical inspector norms.
• Prepare electrical estimates and BOQs and present proposed plants to clients.

Design and Tender Coordination

• Prepare DBRs, concept drawings, tender drawings, BOQs, estimates, tender documents, bidding materials, and tender evaluations.
• Coordinate shop drawing approvals, work inspections, and issuance of electrical work completion certificates.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, PEB, process layout, MEP designers, and clients for technical inputs and approvals.
• Review and modify designer documents and drawings and submit statutory approval drawings.

Project Execution and Reporting

• Schedule projects in Microsoft Office or Google Sheets and track progress.
• Conduct site visits with designers for inspections and site issue resolution.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly design project reports to clients.
• Monitor project costs, control costs, and complete billing certifications.

Technical and Compliance Duties

• Check and approve third-party vendor drawings.
• Certify electrical installations and audit existing electrical installations.
• Witness factory and site equipment testing and certify commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with statutory norms, client comments, site requirements, and authority rules.

Technical Profile

• Technical knowledge is required in load lists, demand and fault current calculations, transformer and cable sizing, earthing, lighting, HT boards, LV panels, switchgear, DG sets, and control logic.
• Knowledge is required in protection systems, relay coordination, relay settings, and electrical operational schemes.
• AutoCAD, MS Office, Microsoft Project, and electrical design tools are used in the role.

Candidate Profile

• Three to four years of relevant work experience is required.
• A bachelor's degree with relevant field experience is required.
• Knowledge of architectural and 2D, 3D, and walkthrough software is preferred.
• Leadership, communication, and the ability to explain or justify designs and project costing are required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay is ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 per month, depending on technical expertise and years of experience.
• Benefits include health insurance, leave encashment, life insurance, and provident fund.

Workplace and Location

• The stated work location is Pune, Maharashtra, and work is performed in person.
• Candidates are preferred to be able to reliably commute or relocate to Pune, potentially with an employer-provided relocation package.
