Role overview
The Senior DevOps Engineer, Data & AI Platform is the technical expert for the infrastructure behind Assent's Data & AI Platform.
The role applies senior-level DevOps expertise to data pipelines, warehousing, orchestration, and AI/ML systems.
Core responsibilities
- Own the technical quality of platform infrastructure, tooling, and automation from design through delivery and sustainment.
- Design, build, and maintain secure infrastructure as code and platform automation, primarily on AWS.
- Partner with Data Engineering to translate requirements into infrastructure and automation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and environment tooling.
- Design observability, alerting, and incident-response practices for data platform workloads.
- Design governance, access, and security policies for data platform infrastructure.
- Guide Data Engineering on infrastructure and deployment best practices.
- Contribute to broader DevOps initiatives, standards, automation, security, reliability, and operations.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Deep expertise in Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow, with experience building and operating data platforms at scale.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Terraform, containerization, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
