Job Purpose

Collaborate with NYSE’s central AI team to build and deploy generative AI applications.

Lead applied research and development using large language models, vector databases, and agentic frameworks.

Enhance internal analytics and decision systems with generative AI.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy retrieval-augmented generation pipelines using LangChain and vector databases.
  • Prototype and evaluate generative AI applications on NYSE data using commercial and open models.
  • Build API-based microservices for large language models and optimize performance and cost.
  • Use AI assistants for code generation, testing, and documentation with expert review.
  • Track experiments with MLflow and deploy using CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Define metrics for latency, accuracy, and user satisfaction.
  • Share findings and lead technical discussions with New York City stakeholders.

Collaboration Style

  • Participate in daily video stand-ups during the overlap window.
  • Provide asynchronous updates and documentation through Microsoft Teams.
  • Maintain strong written and oral communication.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years with generative AI or NLP.
  • Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, asyncio, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs, and LangChain.
  • Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone or Weaviate and with MLflow.
  • Strong judgment in using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication.
  • Familiarity with financial-market data such as order books and trading events.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
  • Peer-reviewed publications in related fields.

Schedule

  • Working hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM IST, with overlap from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM EST.
