Senior Design Manager

Location and Salary

• The role is based in Dubai, UAE.
• The salary is AED 40,000–45,000 per month.

About the Role

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Extensive construction design management experience, preferably in the UAE or wider GCC.
• Experience managing design delivery for large-scale and complex construction projects.
• Technical knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP design coordination.
• Experience delivering Design & Build or EPC projects in fast-track or technically complex environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary or international design teams.
• Knowledge of UAE regulations, codes, authority requirements, and approval processes.

Technical Capabilities

• Knowledge of value engineering, buildability, design risk management, and cost optimization.
• Experience with BIM-led projects and Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360/ACC, and CDE systems.
• Experience with high-rise, mixed-use, infrastructure, or data centre developments is highly desirable.
• Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project experience is advantageous.
• BIM Management certification including ISO 19650 or PMP certification is desirable.
• Chartered status or professional membership such as CEng, RIBA, CIOB, ICE, or RICS is advantageous.

Design Leadership

• Lead the overall design process across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Develop and implement the Project Design Execution Plan.
• Lead design reviews, technical workshops, coordination meetings, and buildability assessments.
• Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to design and technical teams.
• Act as the primary design contact for project stakeholders.

Delivery and Controls

• Oversee review and approval of IFC drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built documentation.
• Monitor design progress against programmes and KPIs and implement corrective actions.
• Manage RFIs and resolve design queries and technical issues efficiently.
• Drive value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
• Implement QA/QC procedures and conduct design audits.
• Champion Safety in Design and ensure compliance with regulations, standards, HSE requirements, and company policies.

Digital and Risk Coordination

• Oversee BIM, CAD, Common Data Environment, and digital collaboration platforms throughout the design process.
• Review subcontractor and specialist designs for integration with the overall project design.
• Monitor design risks and ensure they are incorporated into the project risk register.
• Track design changes and assess cost, programme, variation, and procurement impacts with Commercial and Procurement teams.
• Oversee Temporary Works design coordination, reviews, approvals, and compliance.
