Senior Data Engineer, Data Integration & Performance Platform (12-Month Contract)

Role Overview

Core Delivery Areas

• Build and run pipelines converting holdings, transactions, and reference data from legacy platforms into Aladdin, including reconciliation and break resolution.
• Design and maintain integrations between Aladdin, order management, treasury, private markets, and market data providers.
• Build the Snowflake Integrated Data Platform using medallion architecture, data modelling, orchestration, quality controls, and lineage.
• Engineer data services and APIs that address gaps between Aladdin functionality and investment, risk, performance, and finance needs.

Data Engineering Ownership

• Develop robust ELT and ETL pipelines using incremental loading, change data capture, historisation, and idempotent replay.
• Use production-grade SQL and Python or PySpark, optimize performance and warehouse sizing, and operate orchestration with monitoring and alerts.
• Create data models, source-to-target mappings, quality controls, lineage, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, testing, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Understand current investment platforms, support migration validation, document data behaviour, and apply change management for adoption.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 6 years in data engineering, software engineering, or data platform roles supporting investment platforms, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms.
• Expert SQL and strong relational and dimensional data modelling skills are required and will be assessed.
• Production experience with Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data warehouse and strong Python library experience are required.
• Experience with ETL and ELT patterns, orchestration tools, investment-system integrations, and varied data formats is required.
• Senior-level experience across at least two investment-system areas and depth in one or more investment data domains are required.
• Strong Git, branching, and CI/CD experience for data code is required.

Preferred and Valued Qualifications

• Experience owning reusable data products, investment performance and attribution, order management, trade lifecycle, or investment accounting is preferred.
• Exposure to Aladdin, Aladdin Data Cloud, eFront, Charles River, Calypso, Eagle PACE, SimCorp Dimension, FactSet, Bloomberg, or Yardi is preferred.
• Experience with dbt, Azure, advanced Snowflake, Prefect or equivalent orchestration, and Terraform, ARM, or Bicep is preferred.
• A related bachelor’s degree, cloud or data engineering certifications, clear communication, and generative AI or prompt engineering experience are valued.

Compensation

• The expected salary range is $86,000 to $130,000 per year, prorated based on the contract term.
• The role may include incentive awards and participation in group benefits and retirement plans.
