Senior Data Engineer (Arabic Speaker)

Role Overview

Must-Have Skills

• Data transformation and modeling.

• Data formats, semi-structured data, and distributed processing.
• Scripting, Linux, connectivity, and reliability patterns.
• Security, governance, secrets, APIs, integrations, platform deployment, DevOps, operations, and troubleshooting.

Experience Requirements

• Have 10+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with production pipeline ownership.
• Own or have owned at least one data platform or system end to end.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Nessie or other data catalog versioning and Iceberg or Delta internals.
• Apache Kafka or equivalent event streaming and streaming ingestion patterns.
• Metadata management, data lineage, and audit framework design.
• API integration platforms, OAuth2, and API-key authentication models.
• Data governance, data classification, and regulated or government data experience.
• Experience taking over or stabilizing a vendor-built or handed-over platform.
• Arabic working proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own production data engineering pipelines and at least one data platform or system end to end.
• Design and maintain data transformation and modeling workflows.
• Implement data orchestration, ingestion, and loading processes.
• Work with query engines, storage systems, table formats, databases, and NoSQL platforms.
• Process data formats, semi-structured data, and distributed workloads.
• Apply scripting, Linux, connectivity, and reliability patterns to data platforms.
• Implement security, governance, secrets management, APIs, and integrations.
• Support platform deployment and DevOps activities.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and stabilize production data platforms.
