Role Overview
Build scalable data systems, tools, datasets, and visualizations that support data-driven decisions across Plaid.
Partner with engineering, product, business intelligence, analysts, marketing, finance, and other teams.
Take ownership of internal datasets and visualizations and establish quality, uptime, and usefulness standards.
Responsibilities
- Understand the Plaid product and strategy to guide golden dataset choices, design, and data usage principles.
- Design datasets with data quality and performance as core considerations.
- Lead data engineering projects that drive collaboration across the company.
- Advocate for industry tools and practices at the appropriate time.
- Own SQL and Python pipelines powering the data lake and data warehouse.
- Document data and define dataset quality, uptime, and usefulness standards.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of dedicated data engineering experience solving complex data pipeline issues at scale.
- Experience building data models and pipelines on datasets ranging from approximately 500 TB to petabytes.
- Comfort with SQL and orchestration tools such as DBT, Mode, and Airflow.
