The Opportunity
The Senior Data Analyst is a senior technical contributor in SAIT's Data Governance Office.
The role leads assigned data quality, data management, analytics, and governance implementation activities across the institution.
The position supports trusted, well-governed data for decision-making, operational excellence, compliance, and institutional objectives.
Core Responsibilities
- Assess, improve, and monitor institutional data quality through profiling, investigations, remediation, and stewardship.
- Maintain business glossaries, metadata, data definitions, quality rules, standards, procedures, and policy documentation.
- Perform data cleansing, mastering, validation, and management activities for assigned data sets.
- Develop and monitor data quality controls and coordinate stewardship activities.
- Translate stakeholder needs into data requirements, quality rules, reporting needs, and governance solutions.
- Support Ataccama One and related data management tools through configuration, testing, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Develop complex analyses, dashboards, reports, and recommendations on data quality, risks, and governance gaps.
- Coordinate governance working groups, improve governance processes, and deliver data literacy guidance.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field.
- At least five years of progressive experience in data governance, data analysis, data management, data quality, or related work in complex organizations.
- DAMA Certified Data Management Professional or equivalent.
- Microsoft certification in data analytics, Azure, Fabric, or a related area.
- Experience with data governance programs, stewardship, data catalogs, or business glossaries.
- Advanced knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata, Master Data Management, data lineage, and data management tools.
- Transact-SQL, data warehousing, analytics, and reporting tool experience are assets.
- Experience with data impact analysis, risk assessment, data policies, standards, and standard operating procedures.
Salary
- The salary range is $85,000 to $95,000.
- Placement within the range typically depends on skills, experience, and internal equity.
Schedule
- The position is listed at 37.5 hours per week.
- The posting deadline is 4:00 PM on September 15, 2026.
