We are looking for a SME who can help us move our Industrial Instrumentation Certificate from a traditional instrumentation curriculum toward a modern, industry-aligned Industrial Instrumentation and Automation learning pathway that prepares learners for both today’s workplace and the evolving industrial environment.

The ideal SME possesses industry experience, technical leadership, curriculum/training experience and awareness of emerging technologies.

The engagement would initially focus on a comprehensive curriculum and market review , followed by recommendations and support for the redesign of the Industrial Instrumentation suite.

We are looking for an experienced industry professional with 10 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably with significant recent experience in one or more of the following environments:

Oil and gas / petrochemical
Energy and power generation
Manufacturing
Chemical/process industries
Industrial automation
Process control
Industrial electrical/instrumentation systems
Mining or other heavy industrial environment

or demonstrated knowledge in areas such as the following would be highly desirable:

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications in industrial environments
AI-assisted troubleshooting and diagnostics
Predictive and prescriptive maintenance
Anomaly detection using instrumentation/process data
AI-enabled process optimization
Digital twins and simulation
Industrial data analytics
Edge computing and IIoT
Smart sensors and intelligent instrumentation
Generative AI applications for industrial/technical workflows
Human-machine collaboration and AI-assisted decision-making
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related.
Industry experience; prior experience and expertise in the field of Industrial Instrumentation.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Teaching, training, and/or mentoring experience are considered an asset.
Ability to work autonomously as part of a larger team, capable of self-directing and taking the initiative to drive towards outcomes.
Experience in education, technical training, curriculum development or competency-based learning would be an asset.
Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with large groups verbally and in writing (public speaking competence).
Positive and respectful attitude.
