About the Role
WSP seeks a Senior Communications Manager to lead external communications initiatives in the Middle East. The role requires 10+ years of communications experience, including media relations, with superior Arabic and English skills.

Responsibilities
- Develop and support the implementation of communication strategies and plans that align with WSP’s brand, values, and business objectives
- Lead the external component of major corporate communications projects and initiatives, including executive positioning, media & institution relations, and issues/crisis management
- Proactively manage the external communications calendar, including external executive positioning
- Establish constructive and trusting relationships with stakeholders, including partnering with functional Leads team to promote stories
- Work closely with other teams (Internal Communications, Social Media, Brand Management, Marketing, Digital Experience) to ensure consistent messaging
- Craft compelling external communication materials, including press releases, articles, key messages, presentations, and multimedia content
- Create executive positioning plans for the Middle East C Suite and maintain strong press contacts across core trade and business media
- Ensure quality communications that are consistently delivered on time and on brand
- Evaluate the performance and impact of external communications and establish mechanisms for continual improvement
- Stay abreast of latest trends and best practices in external communications
- Support the Internal Communications team with mentoring and development opportunities
- Liaison with Managing Directors of each business to identify Major Opportunities Areas' geography
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in Communications, including solid experience in managing a media relations programme
- Solid experience in the development of external communications programs
- Superior professional Arabic and English language skills, written and spoken
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and senior management
- Demonstrated copywriting and editing capabilities with ability to synthesize complex business matters
- High level of professionalism, rigour, and ethics
- Experience within a listed company would be an asset

- Work closely with the other teams in the Middle East, across the EMEIAA region, and globally (Internal Communications, Social Media, Brand Management and Marketing, and Digital Experience) to ensure consistent messaging and alignment.
- Craft compelling external communication materials, including press releases, articles, key messages, presentations, and multimedia content.
- Create executive positioning plans for the Middle East C Suite and maintain strong press contacts across core trade and business media.
- Ensure quality communications that are consistently delivered on time and on brand, with clear and accurate messaging.
- Evaluate the performance and impact of external communications and current practices and processes, and establish mechanisms for their continual improvement.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in external communications to ensure that our approach remains relevant and engaging.
- Support the Internal Communications team with mentoring and development opportunities.
- Liaison with the Managing Directors of each business to identify Major Opportunities Areas' geography.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related fields.
- Proven communications professional with 10+ years of experience in Communications, including a minimum of solid experience in managing a media relations programme. Experience within a listed company would be an asset.
- Solid experience in the development of external communications programs.
- Superior professional Arabic and English language skills, written and spoken.
- Comfortable in a fast paced role, proven ability to be hands on and strategic, and perform in a constantly changing environment.
- University degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and senior management, with a client oriented, agile, and solution focused approach.
- Demonstrated copywriting and editing capabilities with a keen ability to synthesize complex business matters.
- Motivated by teamwork, collaboration, and the achievement of concrete results.
- High level of professionalism, rigour, and ethics in all activities and interactions.
