Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer for a major drainage network operations, maintenance, and development program in Qatar.

The role focuses on drainage infrastructure, framework contractor oversight, RRRU works, asset reliability, and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Job Details

Operations and Maintenance

  • Manage framework contractors’ maintenance, cleaning, and RRRU works across Foul Water, SGW, and TW systems.
  • Lead inspections and supervision to verify contractual, technical, and operational compliance.
  • Review preventative maintenance and repair schedules and recommend ways to reduce service downtime.
  • Drive improvements that reduce maintenance time and costs while preserving availability and reliability.
  • Investigate and report customer enquiries, asset breakdowns, and flooding incidents.
  • Ensure emergency and incident reports are promptly resolved by framework contractors.

Projects and Commercial Support

  • Review tender documentation for capital maintenance and RRRU works.
  • Lead new RRRU works from planning and design through implementation and close-out.
  • Provide technical and commercial support on framework contracts, risks, and contractor performance.

Systems and Team Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Asset Management Systems and DNO&M processes and procedures.
  • Identify and remove redundant or duplicated activities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams for reliable, safe, and efficient drainage network asset operation.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At least ten years of cumulative drainage network experience.
  • At least three years managing contractors and leading teams.
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary organization, preferably in the Middle East.
  • Strong contract management knowledge and experience.
  • Experience supporting change and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of QHSE requirements.
  • Experience with Foul Water, Surface/Ground Water, and Treated Water drainage systems.
  • Chartered engineering membership is an advantage.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong experience in drainage network operations, maintenance, contractor management, and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with large-scale projects in the Middle East is particularly relevant.
