Responsibilities

  • Technical design of electrical equipment/systems on power & water projects.
  • Drafting & Design Support
  • Preparation of detailed substation drawings for:
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
  • General Arrangement (GA) drawings
  • Equipment layout drawings
  • Cable routing and trench layouts
  • Earthing & lightning protection layouts
  • Control and protection schematics
  • Software & Tools
  • Use drafting and modeling tools such as:
  • AutoCAD (2D drafting – mandatory)
  • MicroStation
  • Maintain drawing standards, layering, and naming conventions.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Coordinate with:
  • Design engineers (Electrical / Protection / Civil)
  • Project managers
  • Site teams
  • Client representatives
  • Resolve drawing discrepancies and update revisions.
  • Documentation & Quality Control
  • Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
  • Prepare submission packages for client approval.
  • Ensure all drawings meet QA/QC requirements.
  • Support audits and documentation reviews.
  • Desired skills
  • Experience in detail design roles for water & power projects particularly for Middle East Region.
  • Knowledge of IEC codes and practices followed in middle east region.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant work experience of minimum 8 years for Owner/detailed engineering preferably in an detail engineering consultancy firm of large projects for power & water domain.
  • Accountable for assigned activities in electrical engineering discipline. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering.
  • Strong attention to detail, Good communication and coordination abilities
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Work in multi discipline team and support the discipline on the project to resolve technical questions and as required to assist work.
  • BGV:
  • Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
  • Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process — including documents uploaded — is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner”.
