- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities that support enrolment growth and revenue objectives
- Develop and execute business development plans aligned with EPD strategic priorities and annual targets
- Lead consultative sales conversations with prospective clients, corporate partners, and executive learners to identify needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions
- Develop proposals, presentations, and business cases in collaboration with faculty and internal stakeholders
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, relationship development, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and account expansion
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with corporate organizations, industry associations, alumni, community partners, and government stakeholders
- Represent EPD and HSB at networking events, conferences, industry meetings, and community engagements
- Lead cross functional teams, mentoring faculty and staff to achieve goals and execute on projects
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, workforce development needs, and emerging market opportunities
- Track business development activities, pipeline performance, enrolment trends, and partnership outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, marketing, adult learning, communications, or a related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in business development, consultative sales, account management, partnership development, or a related field
- Experience developing and executing business development strategies in professional services, executive education, post secondary education, consulting, or a comparable B2B environment
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining strategic relationships with senior leaders, executives, and key stakeholders
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth by leveraging established relationships with business community, preferably within the Alberta marketplace
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and long term relationship development
- Experience utilizing CRM systems, reporting tools, and data analytics
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Master's degree is considered an asset

Description
- The Haskayne School of Business is currently seeking a Full time Limited Term Senior Business Development Consultant for approximately 24 months.
- The Senior Business Development Consultant is a member of the Executive & Professional Development (EPD) team within the Haskayne School of Business (HSB).
- This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with corporate organizations, industry associations, alumni, senior leaders, and executives to drive enrolment growth, generate business opportunities, and expand organizational partnerships.
Summary of Key Responsibilities

Qualifications / Requirements

Work Environment
- Due to the operational requirements of this position, the role is predominantly based on campus and in the community.
- The primary working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, 7 hours per day (35 hours per week); however, flexibility is essential, including some early morning, evening and weekend work.
- Regular travel throughout Calgary and Alberta may be required.
