About the Role

- Develop accessible data collection processes to enhance use of the Kickstand Common Data Platform
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and extraction tools for large datasets
- Perform data cleaning, validation, and integration to ensure data quality
- Conduct descriptive, inferential, and multivariate quantitative analyses on survey and administrative data
- Track and analyze performance metrics using the RE AIM framework
- Design and build user friendly dashboards and data visualizations
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear reports and summaries
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide training on data management
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and privacy legislation
- Maintain documentation of data dictionaries, methodologies, and harmonization processes
Requirements
- Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, data science, computer science, epidemiology, social sciences, psychology, or related discipline (Bachelor's with sufficient experience considered)
- Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing research data in social, behavioural, or community settings
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SAS, STATA, Python, and/or R
- Proficiency in data analysis languages
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of ethical research standards and data privacy
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience writing manuscripts and scientific reports
- Knowledge of data visualization tools is an asset
- Experience analyzing data from electronic medical records is an asset

Description
- The Faculty of Social Work invites applications for a Quantitative Data Analyst.
- This Full time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on grant funding), with possibility of extension.
- The role involves work on a CIHR funded initiative developing a Learning Health System for Kickstand Alberta's Integrated Youth Service.
Data Collection, Management, and Infrastructure
- Develop accessible data collection processes to enhance use of the Kickstand Common Data Platform.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and extraction tools for efficient data retrieval and integration.
- Perform data cleaning, validation, and integration to ensure quality and integrity.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in data workflows.
- Provide change management support to staff and cross functional teams.
Data Analysis and Evaluation
- Conduct descriptive, inferential, and multivariate quantitative analyses on survey and administrative data.
- Track and analyze performance metrics using the RE AIM framework.
- Provide analytical support for strategic planning and program evaluation.
Reporting and Visualization
- Design and build user friendly dashboards and data visualizations for diverse end users.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights and reports.
- Prepare regular evaluation reports such as monthly RE AIM metrics reports.
Collaboration, Governance, and Compliance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide expertise on data analysis tools.
- Provide training and upskilling for the Kickstand Data and Evaluation team.
- Contribute to development of internal policies for data sharing and governance.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and privacy legislation, including OCAP and OCAS principles.
- Maintain documentation of data dictionaries, methodologies, and harmonization processes.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from community partners and leadership.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Master's degree in statistics, biostatistics, data science, computer science, epidemiology, social sciences, psychology, or related discipline (Bachelor's with sufficient experience considered).
- Minimum 3 years of experience analyzing research data in social, behavioural, or community settings.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative research with large administrative or community datasets.
- Proficiency in SAS, STATA, Python, and/or R.
- Proficiency in data analysis languages.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools is an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience analyzing data from electronic medical records is an asset.
- Proficiency in developing quantitative databases.
- Knowledge of ethical research standards and data privacy.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights, reports, dashboards, and summaries.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
