Primary Objective
- Support the Logistics Commercial Leader in planning and scheduling of shipping, trucking, freight forwarding, port activities, and ad hoc logistics suppliers, including performance monitoring through KPIs and maintaining associated databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for developing logistics plans in collaboration with Logistics Operations, Planning, and Sales teams, balancing value and customer delivery with costs across annual, quarterly, and monthly horizons (60 70% of time).
- Support annual logistics budget development including data analysis, spreadsheet preparations, and consistency checks for costs and volumes.
- Support quarterly updates for logistics budget and other rolling plans.
- Develop monthly plans and weekly logistics schedules derived from monthly plan breakdown.
- Coordinate logistics risks and constraints across planning horizons, and develop action plans for deviation recovery.
- Assist line manager on projects and other logistics commercial activities (30 40% of time).
- Coordinate export tenders from opportunity identification to bid proposal preparation.
- Coordinate with internal departments to develop RFQs for new business contracts.
- Manage contracts including invoice disputes and liaison with legal team.
Authority and Decision Making
- Think within clearly defined policies, principles and specific objectives, under readily available direction.
- Work is subject to periodic review against targets with delivery of medium term results.
- Report regularly to line manager on logistics activities, challenges, and mitigations.
- Development of logistics planning activities with appropriate escalation to management approval.
Performance Management
- Assist OBL leader in establishing and monitoring SMART KPIs to track and evaluate overall performance.
- Manage deviations, analyze root causes, and take corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain datasets for performance monitoring.
- Prepare executive and routine presentation slides.
