Role overview

Support the design, development, and testing of software systems, modules, and applications for enhancements and new products.

Work as a developing subject matter expert on cloud-based tools, microservices, APIs, telemetry data, and ML/AI algorithms.

Support detailed module design, multi-vendor infrastructure prototyping, and solution demonstrations for internal or client audiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions and functionality that support business growth.
  • Write and test code, support automated testing, and assist with code refactoring.
  • Participate in software deployment and deliver components with the product team.
  • Integrate and build solutions through automation, coding, and third-party software.
  • Build and debug large-scale distributed systems.
  • Maintain technical program, end-user, and operational documentation.
  • Review code written by other developers and perform related tasks.

Technical requirements

  • Developing understanding of cloud architecture and services across AWS, GCP, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • Subject matter expertise in programming languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and Node.js.
  • Developing expertise in data structures, algorithms, software design, analytical reasoning, and debugging.
  • Developing knowledge of microservices architecture and experience with API product development.
  • Developing expertise in SQL and NoSQL data stores, including Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
  • Developing understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, and LXC/LXD container runtimes.
  • Developing proficiency with Agile, Lean, test-driven development, CI/CD, and cloud deployments.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Moderate experience working with geo-distributed teams and multiple stakeholders through innovation, pilot, and production phases.
  • Moderate experience with tools across the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • Moderate experience in Agile and Lean methodologies, Continuous Delivery or DevOps, and data-driven processes.
  • Familiarity with large datasets and the ability to apply appropriate ML/AI algorithms.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals and relevant Agile certifications are preferred.
