Role overview

The Senior Associate DevOps Engineer is a developing subject matter expert supporting internal clients with medium-complexity software technology environments.

The role translates business requirements into technology terms and develops, tests, implements, and maintains software solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather business and user requirements with platform specialists and prepare technical requirements and systems design documentation.
  • Create technical specifications, configure systems environments, develop and test databases and programs, and perform test readiness activities.
  • Document development procedures for application use and security and investigate program errors and data or logic issues.
  • Assist with application installation, deployment, integration testing, and resolution of problems identified during testing.
  • Support production implementations under defined business SLAs and prepare operational task descriptions for implemented solutions.

Required experience

  • Relevant experience in software development and support is required.
  • Experience deploying software solutions to clients in an outsourced or similar IT environment is required.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and geographies is required.
  • Programming or development experience with Agile processes such as Scrum or Kanban is required.

Qualifications and certifications

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or a related field is required.
  • Relevant DevOps and Agile certifications are preferred.
  • Relevant certifications for cloud platforms or scripting and programming languages are applicable.

Required capabilities

  • Knowledge of multi-technology application design best practices is required.
  • The role requires a holistic understanding of hardware platforms, applications, databases, operating systems, and storage.
  • Developing knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment and release management, automation tooling, and source code repositories is required.
  • The role requires problem-solving, analytical, planning, communication, client-centricity, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and continuous improvement methods is required.
