About the role

10 Design is seeking an experienced, design-focused Senior Architect to contribute to complex architectural projects across sectors, scales and work stages.

The role combines design leadership, technical judgement, coordination and responsibility for defined project areas or work packages.

The architect will work under a Project Architect, Associate or Associate Director with substantial independence and may lead a workstream, manage packages or deputise for the Project Architect.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of complex architectural projects from concept through completion.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and stakeholders to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Act as a key client contact and contribute to briefs, presentations and strategic decisions.
  • Drive design development across project stages while balancing creativity, sustainability, technical performance, programme and cost.
  • Oversee design and technical information and ensure compliance with quality, statutory and project requirements.
  • Lead consultant coordination, design reviews and technical problem-solving.
  • Support planning, regulatory approvals and sustainability initiatives, including BREEAM, LEED and other environmental frameworks.
  • Monitor progress, resources, programmes and deliverables and manage project risks.
  • Contribute to procurement, tender and construction activities, including site inspections and quality assurance.
  • Mentor junior team members and champion health, safety, quality and professional standards.
  • Support commercial management of project scope, fees, resources and client expectations.

Education and professional status

  • UK ARB registration and RIBA Part 3 qualification, or a recognised international equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to relevant professional knowledge.

Experience

  • Substantial post-qualification experience in an architectural practice with responsibility for project delivery or major project packages.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural project delivery across the RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Detailed experience in at least one of early design, developed and technical design, or construction and handover.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and integrating structural, MEP, specialist and contractor information.
  • Knowledge of UK and/or Middle East construction industry legislation, practice and procedures.
  • Experience on UK and/or international projects; Middle East experience is advantageous.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring and reviewing junior architects and architectural assistants.

Essential software proficiency

  • Advanced-level proficiency in Revit.
  • Advanced-level proficiency in Rhino.
