Job Description

HungerStation is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the team in Riyadh.

The role is intended for a significant individual contributor and collaborative team player.

Engineering Responsibilities

  • Analyze product requirements, assess feasibility, estimate effort, and define solutions with the Product Team.
  • Build development components and transform requirements into working software.
  • Document coding steps for maintainability and future modification.
  • Write unit, integration, and UI or snapshot tests.
  • Investigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other fixes.
  • Collaborate on code reviews and produce code review reports.
  • Perform functional and module testing.
  • Monitor product development and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with user trials and acceptance testing.
  • Keep current with software development methodologies.

Core Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of software development experience with strong design-pattern and algorithm foundations.
  • Deep expertise in native Android development and experience delivering high-quality, testable code with modern mobile architectures.
  • In-depth understanding of the Android lifecycle, including Activities and Fragments.
  • Practical experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • A proven record of engineering excellence and significant impact on complex systems.
  • Strong project prioritization, multitasking, and Git version-control skills.
  • Familiarity with Modern Android Development toolkits including ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Navigation, SafeArgs, Retrofit2, RxJava2, and multi-module Dagger2 setups.
  • Understanding of modular app architecture principles and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to design and implement maintainable, scalable modules.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, APIs, and machine-learning integration in mobile applications.

Additional Experience

  • Kotlin is preferred, while a Java background is accepted.
  • Open-source contributions and technical publications are a strong plus.
  • Native iOS or Flutter experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Firebase, Google Maps API, Fastlane automation, and the Checkout.com SDK is nice to have.
