Position Details
The Senior Analyst, Data Analytics is part of TVO’s Product and Technology division and reports to the Manager, Product Management and Data Strategy.
The role supports TVO’s transition toward data-driven decision-making by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting complex data from multiple sources.
The position creates visualizations, supports data-related requirements and roadmaps, handles ad hoc requests, and leads special projects.
Employment and Location
- The position is full-time staff and union.
- The role is based at TVO’s Yonge and Eglinton location in Toronto and is on-site.
- The annual salary range is CAD 63,802.62 to CAD 69,754.51.
Data Analytics and Research
- Build data tracking plans and define metrics and KPIs for stakeholders.
- Mine proprietary databases and data warehouses to provide viewer, user, and product insights.
- Design background research, analytics proposals, sample designs, and data instruments.
- Provide insights and reporting to support organizational objectives.
- Analyze behavioral and attitudinal trends in product usage and consumption.
Measurement and Data Tools
- Manage Google Analytics and other digital data instruments, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Brightcove.
- Implement, maintain, and update tracking tags through Google Tag Manager.
- Work with customer data platforms and developers to build user segments.
- Track and monitor syndicated and proprietary research sources.
Reporting and Stakeholder Support
- Provide television audience analysis for TVO.
- Create weekly and monthly dynamic dashboards and visualizations.
- Present actionable research findings to Programming, Production, Marketing, and other departments.
- Develop business cases recommending options for new tools.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in business, market research, communications, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in data analysis and qualitative and quantitative research findings.
- Advanced SQL query skills and knowledge of relational databases.
- Advanced Google Analytics 4 knowledge and proficiency in Google Tag Manager and tracking-tag implementation.
- Ability to create visualizations and dynamic dashboards using Looker Studio, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and other BI tools.
- Experience with large data sets and reconciling multiple datasets.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in media or ed-tech, customer data platforms, Agile and Scrum, or cloud-based data warehouses is an asset.
- The role requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and ad hoc requests.
- The successful candidate should demonstrate curiosity, willingness to learn, and the ability to stay current with data analytics and measurement tools.
