Automated Test Developer (5-Month Contract)

The Opportunity

How You Will Make an Impact

• Apply a quality assurance mindset focused on risk, coverage, edge cases, user experience, and reliable quality outcomes.
• Create test documentation and follow QA and SDLC best practices.
• Collaborate with QA, development, and cross-functional teams to align test coverage with requirements.
• Support smoke, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing and prioritize work based on risk and delivery timelines.
• Improve automation practices and evaluate modern tooling and AI-assisted testing where appropriate.
• Set up test environments and develop automated suites with Playwright, Cypress, or similar JavaScript-based frameworks.
• Execute and analyze automated test results and escalate issues and risks.
• Develop REST and GraphQL API tests and contribute to performance, load, and security testing.
• Work with AWS or Azure environments and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.

What You Will Bring to TVO

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technical experience.
• At least three years of automated testing experience for web and mobile applications.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and grounding in QA principles and practices.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent understanding is an asset.
• Strong JavaScript or TypeScript proficiency for test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools.
• Experience writing front-end and back-end automated tests.
• Experience with REST and GraphQL API testing using Postman or native scripting.
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, and Docker-based test environments.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and client-server interactions.

• The position is located in Toronto at Yonge and Eglinton and is on-site.

Salary

• The salary range is $63,802.62-$69,754.51.
