Responsibilities
- Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger reconciliations
- Help out centralized national purchasing company and prepare quarter end dealership working paper templates
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable oversight and review
- Balance sheet schedule maintenance
- Prepare third party quarterly and year end reporting
- Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Support and assist junior accounting staff with daily tasks and duties
- Prepare manufacturer financial statements
- Expense and inventory analysis
- Assist with yearend financial statement audit requests
- Set up and maintain information reports for senior management
- Process, review and analyze payroll; focus on discrepancies and taxable deductions
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years' experience of senior accounting within management, investment and real estate companies
- University degree in Business/Accounting
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, proficient in Excel at a high level (macros and lookups)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines

About the Role
- Dilawri Group of Companies is Canada's largest automotive group, representing over 35 brands at more than 80 franchised dealerships.
- We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team with Dilawri Group of Companies National.

Key Responsibilities
- Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger reconciliations
- In addition to non dealership accounting you would be helping out our centralized national purchasing company, and preparing quarter end dealership working paper templates
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable oversight and review
- Balance sheet schedule maintenance
- Prepare third party quarterly and year end reporting
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Support and assist junior accounting staff with daily tasks and duties
- Prepare manufacturer financial statements
- Understanding of internal controls and their importance
- Expense and inventory analysis
- Assist with yearend financial statement audit requests
- Set up and maintain information reports for senior management
About You
- Minimum 5+ years' experience of senior accounting within management, investment and real estate companies.
- Fully understand the monthly accounting cycle and be proficient in accounting year ends.
- University degree in Business/Accounting
- Canadian professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) or working towards a Canadian designation is considered an asset but not required
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office. Proficient in excel at a high level (macros and lookups)
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and procedures
- Excellent level of communication and relationship building skills to develop strong working partnerships with team members and management
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Ability to be efficient and effective while working independently and within a team
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
