Senior Accountant - Family Business Environment

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting documentation.
• Manage petty cash, labor supplier payments, vendor payments, and service provider reconciliations.
• Record and reconcile retail sales transactions and daily cash collections.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and accounting standards.
• Monitor expenses and support budget preparation.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders.
• Prepare management reports and provide financial insights for business decisions.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of accounting experience.
• Previous experience in a family business environment is mandatory.
• Strong experience in petty cash, labor supplier payments and reconciliation, retail transactions and cash handling, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and VAT compliance and filing.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, plus advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Fluent Tagalog or Arabic.
• Experience in retail, trading, FMCG, hospitality, or multi-business family-owned groups is preferred.
• ACCA, CMA, CPA, or an equivalent professional certification is advantageous.
