About the Role

Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements
- Perform month end and year end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Manage customer accounts, collections, and credit control processes
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments
- Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
- Prepare aging reports and provide recommendations to improve cash flow
- Monitor inventory accounting and ensure accurate stock valuation
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and prepare VAT returns
- Coordinate with auditors and provide required information during audits
- Utilize ERP systems for accounting operations and identify process improvements
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare management reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in FMCG industry
- Strong experience in B2B accounting and credit control
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage 300, Odoo, or similar
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of VAT regulations, financial reporting, and inventory management
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage

Job Overview
- We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Senior Accountant to oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, accounts receivable management, and credit control functions.
- The ideal candidate will have strong FMCG industry experience, a solid understanding of B2B accounting processes, and expertise in ERP systems and financial analysis.
- This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting while supporting business growth and profitability.
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up to date accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Perform month end and year end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Monitor general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Accounts Receivable & Credit Control
- Manage customer accounts, collections, and credit control processes.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
- Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limits.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Prepare aging reports and provide recommendations to improve cash flow.
Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor inventory accounting and ensure accurate stock valuation.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical stock counts.
- Analyze inventory movements, variances, and slow moving stock.
- Support cost analysis and profitability reporting.
Tax & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and review VAT returns and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide required information during audits.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
ERP & Process Improvement
- Utilize ERP systems such as Sage 300, Odoo, or similar platforms for accounting operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Support system upgrades, implementations, and process automation initiatives.
Financial Analysis
- Conduct financial analysis and prepare management reports.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and working capital performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support business decision making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the FMCG industry.
- Strong experience in B2B accounting and credit control.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage 300, Odoo, or similar accounting software.
