Role Overview
The Senior Accountant at FGRealty is responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations and providing strategic financial insight to support management decision-making.
This is a key role within the organisation requiring a high level of professionalism, integrity and technical expertise.
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare, review and present accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate, complete and reconciled
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Prepare bank reconciliations on a regular basis
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the company meets its financial obligations
- Maintain fixed asset register and manage depreciation schedules
- Prepare and review journal entries and adjusting entries as required
Payroll & Employee Finance
- Process monthly payroll accurately and on time in compliance with Qatar Labour Law
- Calculate and process final settlements, end-of-service gratuities and leave encashments
- Maintain payroll records and ensure all deductions and allowances are correctly applied
- Coordinate with HR on salary amendments, new joiners and leavers
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts
- Monitor actual performance against budget and report on variances to management
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
- Track departmental expenses and ensure cost control measures are in place
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure full compliance with Qatar Financial Centre regulations and applicable laws
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and any other statutory filings as required
- Liaise with external auditors and provide all necessary documentation for annual audits
- Ensure all financial practices comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in local tax and financial regulations
Commission & Revenue Management
- Track and calculate agent commissions accurately in line with agreed commission structures
- Reconcile commission payments with sales records and ensure timely disbursement
- Prepare revenue reports and transaction summaries for management review
- Monitor incoming payments from clients and developers and follow up on outstanding balances
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to property sales
Banking & Treasury
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Process wire transfers, cheque payments and other banking transactions
- Monitor company bank accounts and ensure adequate liquidity at all times
- Prepare and manage post-dated cheques and payment schedules
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain organised and complete financial records and filing systems
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis upon management request
- Support the CEO and management with financial data for presentations and decision-making
- Coordinate with PRO and legal teams on financial documentation requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional qualification preferred CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent
- Minimum 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, experience in real estate or Qatar is a strong advantage
- Strong knowledge of Qatar Labour Law financial obligations including WPS, end of service and gratuity calculations
- Proficient in accounting software QuickBooks, Tally, SAP or similar
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Excellent communication skills in English
