Role overview
Security Managed Services Engineer (L1) is an entry-level engineering role providing managed services to clients.
The role supports operational firewall infrastructure, first-line incident handling, service requests, and service-level agreement performance.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and optimize SIEM systems, rules, log collection, and security monitoring capabilities.
- Investigate alerts and security events, manage incidents through closure, and support containment, response, and recovery activities.
- Conduct forensic investigations using system processes, network connections, disk imaging, PCAP, vulnerability scanning, and malware analysis.
- Maintain SOC toolsets, documentation, incident reports, response procedures, and audit-ready security controls.
- Collaborate with security, IT, and SIEM vendors and develop automation scripts for recurring response tasks.
Requirements
- A valid CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) certificate is required.
