Job Overview

  • SCADA Cyber Security Engineer position in Qatar.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Educational qualifications obtained from North America, Western Europe, or Australia are preferred.
  • Chartered Membership in a relevant engineering discipline will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably within the water and wastewater management industry.
  • Experience in conducting detailed investigations related to cyber security and network management systems.
  • Knowledge of sewer and TSE networks, including pump stations and treatment facilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of data analysis to support operational and strategic decision making.
  • Familiarity with drainage networks and associated systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, SCADA systems, and analytics technologies.
  • Knowledge of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support the Drainage Network Management Systems (DNMS) to ensure secure and reliable 24/7 communications.
  • Manage and monitor Cyber Security Systems (CSS), Network Management Systems (NMS), SCADA Master Station communication systems, including performance and availability, communication systems supporting EAMS, CRMS, GIS, ODW, and ICCS platforms, and communication systems providing access to DNMC and RNM
  • Oversee activities related to communication networks and core business systems within the DNMC, including server maintenance.
  • Identify and escalate anomalies, risks, and issues to the DNMC Supervisor.
  • Participate in the management and resolution of incidents impacting DNO&M services.
  • Coordinate with ISD and third party stakeholders to analyze and resolve network and cyber security issues.
  • Investigate incidents to determine root causes and implement mitigation measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare and submit ad hoc, weekly, and monthly cyber security and network performance reports.
  • Monitor the evolving cyber security landscape and ensure policies, procedures, and systems remain current and effective against emerging threats.
  • Ensure staff compliance with cyber security policies and procedures.
  • Provide input into the review and update of the Incident and Emergency Management Plan (I&EMP), as required.
