Satellite Implementation & Special Projects Section Manager

Role Overview

Infrastructure Implementation

• Implement GEO, MEO, and LEO platforms, gateways, VSAT hubs, and associated ground-segment equipment.
• Integrate satellite communication systems with IP/MPLS transport, optical backbone, and core network infrastructure.
• Manage vendors, contractors, and system integrators against project scope, quality standards, and timelines.
• Coordinate site readiness for power, space, transmission, civil works, and infrastructure dependencies.

Testing and Service Transition

• Oversee installation, integration, testing, and commissioning in line with approved design specifications.
• Conduct service validation, interoperability, and performance testing before activation.
• Oversee migration, cutover, and service transition while minimizing customer impact.
• Lead PAT and final customer acceptance for satellite and special projects.

Governance and Readiness

• Ensure implementation complies with security, regulatory, and operational standards.
• Coordinate with SEA, security, and business stakeholders to resolve implementation dependencies.
• Monitor project milestones, resources, implementation KPIs, and vendor performance.
• Deliver documentation, knowledge transfer, training, and support handover to Operations and Maintenance.

Resilience and Project Control

• Implement resilience, redundancy, and high-availability features across GEO, MEO, and LEO infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with approved Method of Procedures, change management processes, and operational governance.
• Report project status, progress, and key metrics to stakeholders.
• Develop and automate engineering workflows for integrated satellite, MPLS, and DWDM delivery.

Transport and Reporting

• Deliver integrated statements of work for MPLS and DWDM projects with end-to-end ISP and OSP dependencies.
• Maintain physical diversity requirements for transport services.
• Resolve blocking issues affecting PAT acceptance for transport statements of work.
• Design dashboards to track core and transport project status, actions, missed SLAs, and revisions.
