Key Responsibilities
- Lead and further develop Thorlabs' India sales operations function, ensuring alignment with regional growth objectives, operational priorities, and the overall commercial strategy of the EMEA organization.
- Manage, coach, and develop Customer Service and Sales Engineering teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the effective execution of lead management, quotation processes, order fulfillment, and customer engagement activities to support revenue growth and a seamless customer experience.
- Act as the key interface between the India office and international stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Logistics, IT, and Customer Operations teams.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers, local vendors, service providers, and external business partners while supporting commercial activities and customer retention initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, company policies, contractual obligations, and commercial processes, while safeguarding operational integrity and business continuity.
- Identify, lead, and implement process optimization and automation initiatives to improve productivity, scalability, service quality, and overall operational efficiency across the organization.
- Provide management with accurate operational reporting, performance analysis, business insights, and recommendations to support decision-making, resource planning, and sustainable business growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Physics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience within Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Customer Service, Technical Sales Support, or a comparable business environment.
- Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing customer-facing teams within a fast-paced and growth-oriented organization.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, order management, customer lifecycle management, and operational performance metrics.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within an international matrix organization and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders across functions and regions.
- Experience driving process improvement, change management, and operational excellence initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable solutions.
- Fluent in English and Hindi, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with customers, partners, and senior leadership.
